I was trying to figure out how to get myself to blog every day this month, and then Thursday it hit me – post the first song I hear in the morning, and then write something about it. Which was going to be perfect! Except that Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, we didn’t have the alarm set, and I didn’t wake up to music. Normally we listen to a local radio station that plays an eclectic mix for their morning show, and has ‘wake-up songs’ requested by listeners – so one could hear Katy Perry, Bon Jovi, Backstreet Boys, Duran Duran… You name it.
This morning, it was Barry Manilow’s Copacabana (At the Copa). Yeah, I suppose it’s a little corny, but one can’t help but dance when one hears it – and smile! It is a fun tune! My mom had Barry Manilow’s albums, and I remember listening to them as a kid – and loving them so much! My dad transferred the Greatest Hits album over to tape at some point, which I quickly appropriated for my own use. Anyway, here is Copacabana, for your listening enjoyment.
