Soprano April Bennett is an active soloist and chamber musician. She has performed with Choral Arts of Springfield, the Dayton Opera Chorus, the Kettering Civic Band, the Miami Valley Symphony Orchestra and the Springfield Symphony Orchestra. Musical highlights include Messiah (Handel), Missa in Angustiis (Haydn), Exultate Jubilate (Mozart) and Stabat Mater (Pergolesi). This season Mrs. Bennett will return to Wittenberg University for their annual Messiah Sing-along Concert (December 2017), make her debut with the Bach Society of Dayton (March 2018) and is pleased to again make music with Springfield Symphony Orchestra singing Mendelssohn’s Elijah (April 2018).
Mrs. Bennett is an alumna of Wright State University’s School of Music; she maintains a private voice studio where she helps students of all ages find their voices and gain confidence in using their unique instruments. She is a member of the National Association for Teachers of Singing and Dayton Music Club and attends workshops, seminars, lessons and coachings in order to hone her craft as musician and teacher.

In addition to her roles as teacher and performer, Mrs. Bennett is the author of two published novels and is a freelance editor, working primarily for an independent publishing house. In her free time, she trains for marathons, reads, blogs, and binges on BBC crime dramas. She lives with her husband near Yellow Springs, OH.
